Yongxing Shen is an auditor to Micro and Nano Mechanics Group meetings. He has been a doctoral student since September 2003 in Materials Science and Engineering. His dissertation advisors are Professor David M. Barnett and Professor Peter M. Pinsky.

His current research topic is modeling electrostatic force microscopy measurements on fuel cell electrolyte materials, which is funded by the Global Climate and Energy Project.
